BANTEN, Indonesia — PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) has been recognized with the Golden Leader JMSI Award in acknowledgment of its leadership and sustained commitment to human resource development in North Maluku Province — a key foundation for industrial growth.

The Golden Leader distinction was awarded to IWIP by the Indonesian Cyber Media Network (Jaringan Media Siber Indonesia or JMSI) for the company’s success in transforming more than 65,000 workers from non-skilled to skilled roles, establishing a vital talent pipeline for the nickel sector while catalyzing broader economic activity across the region.
The accolade was presented during the Golden Leader JMSI Awards Ceremony. IWIP’s Human Resources General Manager, Roslina Sangaji, accepted the award alongside Fadlan Muzakki, IWIP’s Communications Manager.
“Human resource development is an essential cornerstone for sustainable industrial growth,” said Sangaji. “IWIP is deeply committed to preparing the local workforce with the competencies, competitiveness, and job readiness needed in today’s industrial landscape.”
According to IWIP’s Human Resources Department reports as of January 2026, the company’s large-scale, structured and inclusive training programs have reached 65,254 participants, mainly from North Maluku and adjacent industrial surroundings. The programs cover industrial technical skills, occupational health and safety (K3), and other operational competencies aligned with workforce demand in the sector.
Graduates of these training initiatives have become the primary talent pool for IWIP and its tenants, enhancing local employability both within the industrial park and in supporting industries. IWIP’s transparent recruitment practices and emphasis on pre-employment skills building have strengthened the nexus between training, job readiness, and employment opportunities for the region’s residents.
Beyond the company’s operations, the award-winning human resource strategy is credited with helping raise overall workforce quality in North Maluku, narrowing skills gaps, boosting the local economy, and supporting the emergence of a sustainable industrial employment ecosystem.
JMSI Chairman Teguh Santosa commended IWIP for its “genuine and consistent commitment” to workforce development, noting that prioritizing people is essential for long-term industrial resilience and regional prosperity.
The recognition also drew praise from Indonesia’s Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Ferry Juliantono, who highlighted the role of industrial training in strengthening regional economic capacity and fostering inclusive opportunities in communities surrounding industrial hubs.
